Stand Tall & Take No Sh*t
There comes a point when you stop waiting for someone else to tell you what you're capable of.
You decide you want more from your career, your relationships, your health, and yourself, and you decide to do something about it. You work out, you try to eat better, you read the books, you make the appointments, you invest in yourself, and you make changes. You don't need someone to convince you that you should want more because you're already in motion.
But being committed to becoming better doesn't mean you have to figure everything out by yourself. That's where I believe Stand Tall & Take No Sh*t comes in.
“She was trained to serve and protect, until she realized no one was protecting her.”
That line is at the heart of my book because standing tall isn't simply about being tough enough to handle whatever gets thrown at you. It's about recognizing that you are responsible for protecting the woman you're becoming, too.
So, what does it actually mean to Stand Tall & Take No Sh*t?
It doesn't mean being difficult, having something to prove, never asking for help, or pretending you have everything figured out. It means you take responsibility for the woman you're becoming.
You stop waiting for permission, you stop shrinking yourself to make other people comfortable, and you stop treating yourself like the one person on your list who can always wait. You decide what matters to you, and then you start acting accordingly. You stand behind your own life.
In my book, I describe what that looks like this way:
“Standing tall speaks of grit to me. Someone who never takes ‘No’ for an answer and is willing to let rejection redirect them to opportunities they actively find and seek out. Standing tall speaks of resilience. A mentality of knowing that rock bottom is where foundations for success are built. Knowing there is a purpose to the valley and putting one foot in front of the other to get to the next mountain top. Standing tall is knowing when to ask for help. Strategically finding those you need for love, support, mentorship– especially the people who will pick you up, dust you off, adjust your crown, and give a loving kick in the ass to reignite your spark.”
And that includes your health, because you can be incredibly successful and still realize you've been putting your own body at the bottom of the priority list. You can be the woman everyone counts on and still know you want to feel stronger, healthier, more confident, and more comfortable in your own skin. You can be ambitious as hell and still want to look in the mirror and be proud of the body looking back at you. There is nothing wrong with wanting that.
Wanting to build a body you're proud to show off isn't vanity, wanting to feel strong isn't superficial, and wanting to take care of yourself isn't selfish. It's part of deciding that you matter.
Standing Tall means taking care of the woman doing all the work.
That means fueling yourself well, getting enough sleep, moving your body, building strength, making time for yourself, and learning how to take care of your body in a way that supports the life you actually want to live. And no, that doesn't mean doing everything perfectly. It means making decisions that move you in the direction you want to go.
Because the goal isn't to become obsessed with your health. The goal is to become capable of living the life you want in a body you feel proud to live it in. That's a very different thing.
Here's the part I want more women to hear:
You don't have to figure it all out alone. Being independent doesn't mean refusing help, being strong doesn't mean doing everything yourself, and being capable doesn't mean you should have all the answers. Sometimes standing tall means having enough self-awareness to say, “I know where I want to go. I just need someone who knows the path.”
That's what a good coach or mentor should provide: not someone screaming at you to work harder, not another generic meal plan, not another workout you have to force into an already full schedule, and not another list of things you should be doing.
Guidance. Strategy. Perspective. A plan. Someone who can look at where you are, understand where you want to go, and help you build the bridge between the two.
You bring the willingness, you bring the ambition, and you bring the work ethic. The right guidance helps you turn all of that into a clear path forward.
That's what Stand Tall & Take No Sh*t means to me.
It means refusing to settle for a life that doesn't feel like yours, having standards for how you show up, taking responsibility for your growth, being willing to do hard things, asking for help when you need it, becoming stronger instead of making yourself smaller, and being proud of the woman you're becoming along the way.
You don't have to become someone else. You just have to start showing up as the woman you know you're capable of becoming.
And if you're already in motion, already investing in yourself, and ready to build a body you're proud to show off, you don't need more motivation. You need a clear path. That's what I'm here to help you build.
